Still typing away...

I haven't finished writing for the evening so I have no update yet. I will try to get back tonight and let y'all know how I'm doing on my word count.

Rewrite... Draft 5.

It's actually number one. That's because the previous 4 were crap and I've completely retooled the whole damn story. Excuse me as I sigh deeply and regret me existence. *SIGH* Anyway. I'm going to be keeping track of my word count on here. Mostly as I need to have a little more structure in my writing life. Writing here everyday with the totals will not only help me stay focused but keep me aware of my progress. This is of course obvious but something that I've lacked in my previous efforts. I will also make myself write 200 words on why I didn't reach the daily goal if that day ever happens. And it will. Now for the daily goal: 1500 words.

And with out further ado:

Memories of Stone Draft 1 (5)
Words to Date: 2100
Words today: 0

Today's excuse in 200 words:
As we were in the middle of a Supposed Storm of the Year, I spent the day snowblowing. Normally this is a 30-40 minute job but today I was asked to work on my parents driveway(they live next door) as well as the divorced mother of 2's driveway across the street. I was soaked and tired by the end of this ordeal. Then the Hand Cramps started. Holy crap! I was lucky that there weren't any blisters. (79 words) So to say that creative juices weren't flowing was really an understatement. Still, that's no excuse, but I kept finding ways to not do anything at all. (106 words) I did manage to write two blogs today for my myspace account. They're at www.myspace.com/memoriesofstone(that's one word! Damn!) if you're interested. (124) Basically a normal "I'm from MN and don't see what the fuss is about getting some snow!" kind of blog and a Kevin Bacon in 6 steps literary type blog about Tolkien. (156) I've never enjoyed reading Tolkien. And as it turns out most of the writers that I love include him as a major influence. Thereby making Tolkien a major, albeit indirect influence on me. (189) So in conclusion I found that I'm only one degree from...

Ok, penance paid. If I write later tonight this will all have been for naught. Though a good exercise in why I shouldn't slack on getting my writing done.

Take care everyone.

Fresh from the MySpace Quagmire!

So I've spent a year or so on myspace and have found that it is a stinking pile of crap. I know that there might be some redeeming factors to it but I'm having troubles finding them. Maybe if I was 16-24 again it might be more exciting. Hell, if I was 16-24 again there are to many things I'd like to do again that Myspace would probably be very low on that list. I had even gotten to the point that I had 3 profiles going at the same time. One for writing, one for my band, and one last one for my politics. After all this time the only benefit I had derived from them was a reconnection with a few people that I had lost touch with. Ok so that has some value but not enough to keep me locked there and super active. I'm closing down everything but my writing space there and am moving all activity here. So that's that. I look forward to giving you much more about me and my writing and one of my favorites... Politics.
